Ciao Bella, is an imaginative company that makes delicious gelato and sorbetto. Ciao Bella’s owners brought together an amazing chef and a great team to develop new flavors, procure the finest and freshest ingredients, and secured a hand-crafted gelato and sorbetto position for their brand.
Ciao Bella looked to Fiore to help them expand from the food service industry to retail. In a cluttered artisanal frozen desert marketplace, our charge was to spread the word, to leverage Ciao Bella’s food service reputation and their buzz on the street and make that buzz sing success .
Fiore’s mission and strategy were centered on creating relationships with consumers that went far beyond the typical dessert experience. While the packaging was beautiful, no one had considered the habits and behaviors of consumers shopping in the frozen food aisles. Package colors did not indicate flavors, the flavors were listed in Italian, and sorbet and gelato packages had no distinction from each other. We introduced fresh, colorful signature and seasonal flavors labeling with freezer clings. We also helped create ‘relationships’ with consumers with events and promotions like our Shecky’s Girls Night Out events where over 10,000 women got a taste and we simultaneously ran an online photo promotion called ”Show us how you love Ciao Bella”. Photos of every age consumer from all walks of life shared photos of their delighted experiences with Ciao Bella.
The efforts of this multi-faceted campaign helped make Ciao Bella a popular consumer favorite. In fact, Ciao Bella was selected by Oprah as one of her favorite things and was featured on the Food Network.
